The client is a leading provider of enterprise scale Financial Management System. The project was about stabilizing a modular, completely integrated suite of software applications in this domain. The project scope included application sustenance involving defect fixes for critical business issues as well as a proposed enhancement aimed at allowing external applications to access the system’s functionality.
The Challenge:
The client was looking for an off-site team, which would work as an extension of its own team and work closely with their internal IT team. The requirement was for a team well versed in the technology development methodologies and capable of rapid ramp up in the specific domain.
The Solution:
- Sopra India created an offshore development center staffed witha team of highly skilled professionals with expertise on application domain and technology, including extensive experience in ANSI COBOL and AcuCorp Extend family product.
- The project devised a formalized method and phase of carrying out Knowledge Transfer that included activities like mail-based discussions, telephone conferences and walk through sessions and client team visits.
- Elimination of multiple iterations on same task through customized instruments such as limited scope impact analysis report for critical defects for early verification by client.
- The team devised certain instruments to ensure accurate and prompt tracking of multiple tasks to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks in the hectic project life cycle.
