The Client:
The client is a leading provider of Video Monitoring and Surveillance Solutions. These solutions also provide remote monitoring over the Internet.


The Challenge:
The overall project comprised of a wide variety of tasks. These included working with Desktop GUI applications and Embedded Firmware, as well as Customization work for connecting system hardware to USB 2.0 port, to name a few. In addition it was a business critical need for the system to be extremely robust and self recovering from error conditions.


The Solution:
Sopra India created a dedicated team at its offshore development centre for the client. The offshore team worked as an extension of the client's in-house IT team:

• The client was involved in team selection and tested the skills and capabilities of the senior members of the team. The skill profile was matched with the multifarious project requirements including skills in Embedded Applications, Network Programming, Audio and Video Processing and Systems Programming.
• Sopra India has developed a Digital Video Network (DVN) system for the client.
• Sopra India has also implemented enhancements to the client’s remote accessing viewer application for its Digital Video Management System. Sopra India also worked on the camera firmware code, which was developed under QNX.
• The team at the offshore development centre worked on the development of various modules of the client's core products as well as on the testing of the modules developed by the client's in-house team. The team has also performed R&D tasks designed to meet certain specified objectives.
