The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
describes the principles and practices underlying process
maturity and is intended to help organizations improve the
maturity of their processes through an evolutionary path.
CMMI defines five levels of maturity. It is a scale against
which projects and organizations can be measured and therefore
classified, representing their capability to develop and deliver
products with predictable characteristics. Maturity levels
facilitate continuous process improvement. As organizations
establish and improve business processes, they progress through
different levels of maturity. |
